Email hello@arclabs.ai and a person will reply. Below are the questions that come up most.

My contact never got the alert

If they do not have Cuate installed, the alert goes by SMS and you have to tap Send in the Messages sheet that appears. iOS does not let any app send a message on your behalf. If they do have Cuate, check that the contact shows as Verified — an unverified contact cannot receive encrypted evidence.

Do alerts get through Do Not Disturb?

Not currently. Cuate does not have Apple's Critical Alerts entitlement, so a missed check-in arrives as an ordinary notification and Do Not Disturb or a Focus can hold it back. We have asked Apple for it.

I forgot my PIN

There is no recovery, on purpose — a PIN that can be reset by whoever is holding your phone protects nobody. Delete and reinstall the app. Your contacts and your recordings are stored on the device and will be lost.

Where are my recordings?

On your phone, in the Evidence tab, encrypted. Copies go to the contacts you chose. They are not on any server we can read.

Does it drain my battery?

Only while an alert is actually running does Cuate use location continuously. A safety timer costs almost nothing — it is a scheduled notification, not a background process.

Can I use it without giving it my contacts?

Yes. You can type a name and number by hand. Cuate never reads your address book — when you choose someone from Contacts, iOS shows the list and hands back only the one person you picked.
